About Salyna
Salyna Gracie is an encaustic mixed media artist inspired by the layering of materials to evoke dreamscapes that explore questions of identity, memory, legacy and inheritance, weaving together themes of nature, mythology, mysticism, and spiritual awakening
As an artist, Salyna’s creative practice is sourced from the connection between her inner world and her experience in the vast universe she belongs to. Encaustic lends itself to a process of layering of materials that play with light, hiding or revealing deeper mysteries as each layer fuses to the whole. Salyna looks for those deeper connections, between the layers, always searching for points of connection, illuminating the narrative through light.
Salyna has been featured in both solo and group exhibitions in various venues across the Pacific Northwest since 2011. Her work has been published in art books, as well as, poetry anthologies.
